The man who was electrocuted and burnt beyond recognition.
RESIDENTS of KwaMakhutha are reeling in shock.
They still can’t believe the shocking discovery they made in their kasi on Monday morning.
The residents in the kasi situated in the north of Durban found a man stuck on the electricity pole as he had been electrocuted.
One of the residents, who asked not to be named, told Daily Sun that she was on her way to work when she saw other residents looking at the man.
“The person was visibly burnt, so we couldn’t even recognise who it was. The problem is that we don’t know what he was doing up there on the electricity pole. We suspect that he was stealing cables,” she said.
Another resident said it was an awful thing to look at.
“It’s very sad because if this person was stealing cables, then we will never know who it was. It will also take time for his family to find him because he was burnt beyond recognition,” he said.

KZN police spokeswoman Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala confirmed the incident.
Gwala said the KwaMakhutha police are investigating an inquest docket following an incident where an uknown man was allegedly electrocuted in the early hours of the morning along M37.
“Circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated,” said Gwala.
