Man executed over r*pe and mur**der of girl his pregnant wife lured into their home
The teenager was a ‘peace offering’ from the man’s wife over her affairs with other men
A Chinese man was executed on Friday for raping and killing a teenage girl whom his pregnant wife had lured into their home. The man, Bai Yunjiang, was sentenced to death for rape, murder and robbery in a closed-door hearing at the juvenile court in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang province, last June. His wife, Tan Beibei, was given life imprisonment.
The couple’s 17-year-old victim, Hu Yixuan, had been lured into their home in Huanan county by the then-pregnant Tan in July 2013.
Tan had feigned a stomachache and asked the girl to help her home as it was raining, according to court hearings released by state media. In the couple’s home, Hu was given a spiked yogurt drink as Bai thanked her for helping his wife.
He then handcuffed the teenager to a bed and tried to rape her. But he failed to do so as he had a “physical issue” and she was menstruating, the court said.
Having trouble managing the girl, who was putting up a fierce fight during the process, the couple then smothered her with a quilt. They later stuffed her body into a suitcase, which they buried in the county’s suburbs. Investigators found that Tan had been caught having affairs with multiple men while she was dating Bai before they got married in 2011. Hu was Tan’s peace offering to her husband over the affairs. Before Hu, the couple had also plotted to rape a classmate of Bai’s teenage daughter and to rob a former classmate of Bai, but both plans failed.
According to Bai’s lawyer, the man’s marriage to Tan was his third. He has a teenage daughter from his first marriage.
