The last breath before the death of Dr Moumita Debnath.


On August 9, 2024, Dr. Moumita Debnath, a second-year postgraduate trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, was found dead in a seminar hall on the college campus.

 An autopsy confirmed that she had been raped and murdered. 

The incident has elevated debate about the safety of women and doctors in India and has sparked significant outrage, nationwide protests, and demands for a thorough investigation.

Debnath’s body was discovered in a semi-nude state with injuries to her eyes, mouth, and genitals. The autopsy report revealed sexual assault, strangulation, and multiple wounds. 

Around 150 mg of semen was found in the vaginal swab, leading to suspicions of gang rape. The police arrested a suspect who confessed to the crime. 

The tragic incident has deeply affected the community and raised urgent concerns about safety and justice for women in India

They were humiliated, beaten and raped, bought and sold at the local market as if they were things.  After being sold again, the women refused EN masse to serve as ISIS sex slaves and were burned alive as punishment for their insubordination.
