Reasons why you pour saliva on your pillow while sleeping

Saliva on your pillow while sleeping can be due to several reasons:

Mouth Breathing: If you breathe through your mouth while sleeping, you might drool more. Conditions like nasal congestion or sleep apnea can lead to mouth breathing.

Relaxed Muscles: During deep sleep, the muscles controlling your mouth and throat relax, which can make it easier for saliva to escape.

Increased Salivation: Some people naturally produce more saliva. Certain foods, medications, or medical conditions can increase salivation.

Sleep Position: Sleeping on your side or stomach might lead to drooling compared to sleeping on your back, where saliva tends to stay in your mouth better.

Neurological Conditions: In rare cases, drooling during sleep could be linked to neurological conditions or disorders that affect muscle control.
