The accused identified as Longya Phom is a 29-year-old daily wage earner.

A case has been registered and the accused is now under police custody

A mob stripped a man and paraded him naked in Longleng district of Nagaland alleging him of raping a minor girl.

The accused identified as Longya Phom is a 29-year-old daily wage earner.

The victim and accused are said to be neighbours.


When the victims family came to know of the incident, the matter was reported to relatives. The apex women organization of Longleng town, Phom Women Association, caught the accused on June 29.

The accused was handed over to the police after he was paraded around the town by the angry public. The accused confessed to his crime in full public glare.

A case has been registered in connection with the rape and the accused, Longya Phom, is now under police custody.

On May 31, a group of locals had attacked a youth publically in Nagalands Mon district for raping a 12-year-old girl.

It was after the confession that he was paraded, stripped and tied naked with a placard in the public.

On March 26, a group of locals had stripped two accused persons naked and paraded them on street of Yingkiong town in Arunachal Pradesh alleging that they had allegedly raped a minor girl.
